This is why Panthers get people in www.panthers.co.uk/modules/News/SEFS/ID.2113/SEFE/ViewNewsItem.aspThey don't do much in the way of marketing but it's targetted. There's also a fire station on my cut through to and from the M1 where they have banners up. It's a popular route and they have taken advantage of it. Does anyone know if the Steelers do or have done anything like this?

The "simple" message, like the one shown is sometimes more productive than all the ideas from the "guru's" in society. And it sticks in the mind. Some of the adverts on telly etc totally baffle me with their message. To me, as long as the message is clear, simple and corectly placed, that is when we reap what we sow.

I think advertising at other sports events is a great idea as there will be a lot of families there & general sports fans. I can't understand why there isn't anything like this for the Steelers, especially when there's 2 football teams in the same city. Combined, Wednesday & United's average home attendance was 38,449 for last season. If we could attract even 1% of these fans to Steelers games that's an increase of 384 fans. Could we get a small mention in at half-time or something? We could even stretch to Rotherham, Doncaster & Barnsley as the Steelers are these places 'local' team.
Also with some small ads in Meadowhall, the City Centre & on the local radio station, the potential for more fans is massive. I think the club would be surprised as to how many people from Sheffield don't even know the Steelers exist.
And, just on a side note, the Steelers have a partnership with Cineworld & the only thing I've seen there is a couple of cardboard cut-outs. Why don't they show something before the film?? Even a 15 second ad or a mention on the radio bit beforehand. That message would be seen by thousands every week!
